The Dog
This print holds a special place in my (Aaron’s) heart. This one is a dog salmon I caught while living in Alaska one morning before class. This fish shows many scars earned from a hard-fought life at sea before returning to its home stream where it will have spawned and then died before becoming nutrients for the forest and the abundant life held within. This circle of life is nothing unusual for a salmon but it reminds us how important these creatures are to the success of the environment they live in. This fish was caught, photographed, and then released back into the stream without ever leaving the water so it could complete the cycle it was born to be part of.
This print is available in 2 sizes and printed on 242gms Fuji Crystal Lustre Archive Professional Papers with typical longevity of over 100 years in normal display conditions and 200 years in dark storage.
